Indian Steel delivery Logistics

Indian Steel Industry and its #steel#delivery#logistics are in for a #change as parameters on ground are changing with investments into Logistics, Ports, Rail Freight Terminals, Roads, Rail-Road-River/Sea ways, Slurry Pipeways that are all into the Infrastructure and customer delivery needs are no more at one consumption urban point. Steel business mergers are also growing one organisation into huge capacities in past 2 years with multiple plant locations and also new foreign investments with massive expansion plans. In Supply Chain it is known for every 1 ton of finished steel delivered 4 tons of transit from raw material to finished steel are the logistics involved. India had 2 main ways Rail, Road from Plants to Stockyards or Customers. But Supply chain is seeing a #TOC#Rule in place to become asset light, Old tax system is not any more the inconvenient first neccesity for own yards, Material holdings at yards has fallen dramtically for instance #SAIL now holds hardly 250 Kt reducing it further y-o-y in all its 38 Stockyards and consignment agencies for a sales figures of 17 Million Tons. #TataSteel has already identified its underutilised assets to be monetised with leasing it to Multi Modal Providers. #Jsw#Jspl#Amns have adopted no own yard business with Consignment agents, Hypermarts, Service centres, Shoppes, dealer agreement methods, Hub Points in place.
